How to play 101 Okey: rules and scoring

• 106 tiles
• Open with 101+

Goal: Finish the hand first, or keep your penalty points as low as possible.

Setup

• The same 106 tiles and indicator as Okey.
• The starting player gets 22 tiles, everyone else 21.

How to play

1. To open, the sets you lay down must add up to at least 101.
2. You can also open with at least five pairs.
3. After opening you can add tiles to sets on the table.
4. You finish by discarding your last tile.

Scoring

• The finisher writes −101.
• Players who opened write the total of the tiles left in hand.
• Anyone who never opened writes 202.
• If you opened with pairs, your penalty is doubled.
• Finishing by discarding the okey or in one go doubles the penalties.
• Each extra penalty (ek ceza) adds 101, e.g. for discarding a tile that could have been laid off on the table, or the okey.

Winning

Play a set number of hands, or stop when the table decides; the lowest total wins.
